Food, hospitality, location

Of all the places we visited on our 9 day road trip this was our most favorite spot. The rooms were adorable and we loved the couple's jet spa in our bedroom. The bed was super comfortable. The breeze in the room was delightful. The staff, both the innkeeper and the owner, were so nice and helpful. They had lots of great suggestions for around town. The food they served was delicious. I loved both the wine and appetizer hour and the breakfast dishes. I just wish I had remember to get one of their cookies!

Location, quietness and owners were very pleasant.

The look of the facility!

Breakfast was great ! Cocktail hour was wonderful.

Location is close to pier and aquarium, quite street, easy parking, lush gardens, well lit without being harsh

We appreciated the ease of communication via text with the staff about breakfast, hors d'oeuvres, housekeeping, etc. We also appreciated having the option to enjoy our breakfast in the comfort of our cottage. Everything was clean, well-stocked, and welcoming. We were given clear instructions on how everything worked and felt very at home. We loved how conveniently located the house was from many attractions like the bike path, aquarium, Cannery Row, Fisherman's Wharf, various restaurants, etc as we were able to walk to many of these locations. The house itself was beautiful and felt secluded, even with the sound of cars going by on the street, and the cottage provided the perfect amount of privacy.

Very friendly and accommodating hosts. The breakfasts were great. The hot tub in the room was awesome.

The breakfast was superb. We loved both the savory and sweet breakfasts. There is great pride in the presentation as well. As for food, we had hors d'oeuvres on 2 afternoons including wine. This was almost a meal and really ruined our dinner appetite (a good thing!). This may be the best afternoon hors d'oeuvres we've had in this or any other country. Really! There was little about the facility that we did not like. The decor, the grounds, the spaciousness, the comfy sitting rooms were all wonderful! Our hosts were great to talk with. Rick afforded a great deal of time to help us with suggestions and talk about the area. He was a delightful host.

Charming building; one of a kind vacation experience. Welcoming hosts, delicious food.

We love everything about Jabberwock. It is ideally located for touring, Monterey, Pacific Grove, and Carmel. The facility itself is so magical, welcoming, quiet, and comfortable. Beautiful views of Monterey Bay and delicious creative breakfasts every morning. We love morning walks through the neighborhood, and we're pleasantly surprised to see wild deer every day!

What’s not to like! An absolutely wonderful place to stay, so much surpassed our expectations. Beautifully decorated, well thought out communal areas, comfy rooms, wonderful staff. Super little complimentary quirks such as fresh cookies and tea 24/7, filtered water in rooms which you can swap in when empty, brandy in rooms for a night cap and a rabbit hole full of soft drinks for guests to help themselves to,

Quint place. Nicest hosts , Wonderful atmosphere, delicious gourmet breakfast!

Great breakfast in the morning as well as a social hour with wine and apps in the afternoon. The staff was warm and accommodating. Free parking and great location.

The atmosphere was wonderful and the room was beautiful. The service and staff were wonderful and we couldn’t ask for anything more.

The room that we had, had a fantastic view. Breakfast was very good. It was quite tasty. The grounds were very well kept and fairly good size. The owners are very hospitable and shared the history of the Inn.

Perfect location, a short walk to shopping on Cannery Row and many restaurants and cafe's but off the beaten path. the property and the house are beautiful Everything is old but charming. Service was superb with a welcoming text prior to our visit and a tour as soon as we arrived. The wife of the owner couple helps everyone feel at home (we saw her the afternoon/evening and the husband in the morning). Wine and cheese hour was nice, one of the guests sat near enough that we could chat so it was enjoyable (guests are encouraged to sit apart from each other, in their own spaces). We didn't want a 2nd glass of wine but if we had, it was available, we had a lovely cabernet but a white was also being served. Our room had a spa tub big enough for the two of us.

The owners met us and they were extremely friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast was superb and individually prepared.

I stayed for a conference since the conference hotel was booked and I’m so glad I did. My room had a cozy fireplace and a stunning view of the bay. The whole property is charming, as are the staff. Plenty of nooks to settle into in the public areas, too, though I didn’t have time for that. This is a lovely inn, and I’ve already rebooked for next year.

What a great place to stay super Qwaint great location the owners were amazing and the food was awesome. Don’t pass this one up.

Rick, Suzanne, Dorothy and Ruth were all great. I have never had such a personal feeling experience at anywhere that I have stayed before. Rick and Suzanne knew my name and called me by it every day. Breakfast was excellent from the stuffed french toast to the Phantasmagoria to the wonderful Jabber Juice, everything was perfect. I did not join for the wine and hours dourves but was checked on every evening by Dorothy to see if I was going to join to make sure that there was still time. All in all a great stay and I am looking forward to coming back again in the near future.

Great location nice view easy parking. Soft drinks available. Excellent fireplace heating. Supportive of vegan food requests

We had a wonderful visit to Monterey and loved staying at the Jabberwock. The Inn was great, the people, the food, everything.

Old Victorian house, everything was quaint but beautiful. Based on Alice in Wonderland. Very nice people willing to do anything you asked. Delicious breakfast and appetizers for happy hour.

Very nice room with a fire place. The Maitre D was very friendly
